It’s nearly a week since Valentine’s Day, but it’s never too late to celebrate love at the Five Earths Project. Our featured image this month is the Earth-2 Hawkman and Hawkgirl — the original Hawks whose origins are steeped in ancient Egypt. This image is modified from a panel in the classic History of the DC Universe #1, published in 1986.

Love is alive and well at the Five Earths Project, so there were many to choose from. Other close contenders were Superman and Lois Lane Kent of Earth-2, Wonder Woman II (Nubia) and the Martian Manhunter of Earth-1, and even Jor-El and Lara, Superman’s parents. Of all the suggestions offered, I thought the Hawks were the ones who displayed one of the deepest and long-lasting commitments.
