The demoness looked into the flames and saw her foe. As she looked, her own features began to shift. Her straight black hair became wavy and honey-brown. Her slitted, yellow eyes changed to light blue. Her brown skin became pale, and her clawed hands and feet smoothed into more a human-looking form. She saw her alterations in a fetid pool and laughed. She had become a doppelgänger of her foe.
